Lars Mikkelsen

Lars MikkelsenAt the age of 27 He enrolled at the National Theatre School of Denmark. He graduated in 1994. In addition to his part in the drama series that was released worldwide as The Killing, he subsequently was a part of two other internationally popular Danish drama series, Those Who Kill and Borgen III.He also had a leading role in an episode of the BBC drama Sherlock as blackmailer Charles Augustus Magnussen. He played the Russian president in the American TV show House of Cards. He won an International Emmy Award in 2018 for his part in the Danish television drama Herrens Veje, which was shown in the UK in 2019 as Ride Upon the Storm. Mikkelsen is fluent in English, Swedish, German and Danish as well as his mother tongue. He also has learned many accents. According to Mikkelsen the story, he and his brother were taught English by studying Monty Python records.
