
Leona Louise (born on April 3, 1986) is an British singer-songwriter, actress an activist, actor, and singer. Born and raised within the London Borough of Islington, she was a student at her school at the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology in Croydon. Lewis was recognized as a national star by winning the third and final season of The X Factor 2006 and got a deal worth PS1,000,000 and Syco music. The single she won, which was a cover Kelly Clarkson's song "A Moment like This" which was downloaded by 50,000 people within 30 minutes, and was ranked at the top of the charts for about four weeks. Clive Davis, Lewis's American record label J Records signed Lewis a 5 album deal in February 2007. Her success continued after she dropped her debut album, Spirit (2007). It has been certified as platinum by the UK as the fourth highest-grossing album of 2000s. The Official Charts Company claims that Spirit was the 21st-century's best-selling female debut album. Its lead single "Bleeding Love" was at the top of the UK chart for seven weeks before becoming the single with the highest sales in 2007. It was also the most-sold single sold in the US that year. Lewis won the Billboard Best New Artist Award the subsequent year. Echo is her second studio album. She also wrote the track "I I See You" on behalf of Avatar. Lewis also debuted "Collide," a joint project in collaboration with Swedish DJ Avicii. The year 2011 saw her also dropped Hurt The Extended Play from her first EP. The third album she released, Glassheart (2012), brought a brand new direction to her music for Lewis and her music, drawing the inspiration of dubstep and electronic music. During her Glassheart Tour in 2013, she began recording material to her Christmas debut album. Christmas, with Love was released later that year, and the album's lead track, "One More Sleep" reached the top spot at three in the UK. Lewis who is one of the few British female solo artist, became the first to hit the top 5 with eight songs. This is more than Olivia Newton John's record which was seven.
