Awkwafina
Awkwafina was an American performer and actress. She began by releasing hilarious, intelligently composed rap songs that addressed questions of racial identity as well as sexual orientation. She then expanded her fan base to Hollywood. Nora Lum began her musical journey as a trumpet player. Born in Forest Hills Queens, she was the child of Chinese immigrants as well as Koreans. Jazz, classical and hip-hop studies began when she was just a teenager. In her studies, she majored in journalism, and women's studies in college even learning Mandarin in Beijing for a time. After graduating, she began to concentrate on music. Her song My Vag, a response track to Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity through the Internet in the year 2012. The track was later included on the album debut Yellow Ranger released in 2014. The album also contained viral hits like body positive Queef and winking tour of her home NYC Bitche$1. This song is directly connected to Awkwafina's NYC, a 2015 travel guide. After having a great career as a musician, she decided to take on the role of actor. Apart from the early television shows like Girl Code and Tawk, she's been featured in films like Neighbors2Storks as well as Bad Rap. In 2018 she was able to land breakthrough roles in a handful of high-profile films like Dude Ocean's 8, and Crazy Rich Asians. In June, she released her first film In Fina We Trust.
